Las Vegas Writers Conference

The 2026 Las Vegas Writers Conference, sponsored by the literary nonprofit Henderson Writers Group (HWG), was held from April 23 to April 25 at Sam’s Town Hotel & Gambling Hall in Las Vegas. Programming included presentations on craft, marketing, and publishing; workshops; pitch sessions; manuscript reviews; and a master class with the keynote speaker for fiction and nonfiction writers. The faculty included fiction writers Meredith Allard, Andres Fragoso Jr., Jonathan Maberry, and S.G. Tasz; fiction writer and editor (Ellysian Press) R.A. McCandless; fiction writer and independent editor Erick Mertz; fiction writer and agent (Corvisiero Literary Agency) Alisha West; and nonfiction writer Marijke McCandless. Participating publishing professionals included Marisa A. Corvisiero and Tessa Shaffer (Corvisiero Literary Agency), Stephanie Montgomery (Nevada Arts Council), Julie Okabayashi (Las Vegas–Clark County Library District), and Maer Wilson (Ellysian Press). Fiction writer Eva Shaw delivered the keynote address. The cost of the full conference was $575 ($525 for HWG members) before March 20, and $600 ($550 for HWG members) after March 21; single-day passes cost $290 ($240 for HWG members).
