This issue’s Deadlines section lists a total of 135 contests, sponsored by 92 organizations, offering an estimated $2.9 million in available prize money (nearly $2.5 million of which is expected to go to the recipients of grants from the John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Foundation, the New York Public Library, Harvard University, and a handful of other major universities and foundations.
