The First Friday Book Talk & Reading Series features writers from around the world who have Nebraska connections, a national presence, and a new book. Readings begin at Noon CST via Zoom on the first Friday of every month.

Terena Elizabeth Bell is a fiction writer. Her debut short story collection, Tell Me What You See (Whiskey Tit, 2022), was named one of the “best books of the century (so far)” by New York Society Library and a Ms Magazine must-read. The title story was a New York Foundation for the Arts grant winner and another from the collection, “Privacy Station,” has been optioned to become a feature film. Terena has won grants from the Kentucky Foundation for Women and Kentucky Center for the Arts. She was shortlisted for the Scottish Mental Health Arts Festival international writing prize. Her short stories, poetry, and journalism work have appeared in more than 100 publications across the US and internationally, including The AtlanticEllery Queen Mystery MagazineMysteryTribunePlayboy, and The Guardian.
