The 2025 Writer’s Hotel Maine All-Genre “Mini MFA” Writers Conference was held from June 4 to June 10 at the Sebasco Harbor Resort in Phippsburg, Maine. The conference featured a full-manuscript pre-conference reading with two sets of editorial comments, workshops, and attendee and faculty readings for poets, fiction writers, and creative nonfiction writers. One-on-one agent pitching as well as pitching practice sessions took place post-conference via Zoom on June 28. The faculty included poets Richard Blanco, Julia Bouwsma, and Alexandra Oliver; fiction writers Jeffrey Ford, Elizabeth Hand, Shanna McNair, and Scott Wolven; fiction and creative nonfiction writer Lidia Yuknavitch; and creative nonfiction writers Susan Conley, Elyssa East, and Mira Ptacin. The cost of the conference was $3,500. Lodging and meals were not included. To apply, writers submitted 15 pages of poetry or 5,000 words of prose and a cover letter with a $30 application fee by February 19. Visit the website for an application form and more information.
