The Tortuga Gallery In-Person Open Poetry Reading, hosted by Holly Wilson will be held at the Tortuga Gallery, 901 Edith SE in Albuquerque, New Mexico. We have been holding the readings online, but are going back to a live reading since the mask mandate in Albuquerque has been lifted. Sign-up begins at 6:30 pm MST and the reading is held from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Poets have up to 5 minutes each to read their poetry or the poetry of others. Anyone else is welcome to come and listen to the poetry. While at the gallery, you can also enjoy the "Water Is Life" art show that is currently being exhibited. The event is free, but donations to the gallery are welcome.
Find details about every creative writing competition—including poetry contests, short story competitions, essay contests, awards for novels, grants for translators, and more—that we’ve published in the Grants & Awards section of Poets & Writers Magazine during the past year. We carefully review the practices and policies of each contest before including it in the Writing Contests database, the most trusted resource for legitimate writing contests available anywhere.
