Author's Bio

Irene Cooper is the author of the feminist noir thriller, FOUNDCommittal, poet-friendly spy-fy about family (VA Press, 2020); the poetry collections even my dreams are over the constant state of anxiety, (Airlie Press, 2024), and spare change (FLP, 2021); and the chapbook octets (PRESS 254). Writings appear in The Feminist Wire, phoebe, Denver Quarterly, The Rumpus, Beloit Poetry JournalWitness, and elsewhere. Irene co-facilitates The Forge, a 10-month online writing intensive, Blank Pages Workshops and Salon, and teaches in community, as well as for the MFA program at OSU-Cacades. She supports AIC-directed creative writing at a regional prison, and currently serves as an editor for Airlie Press, a non-profit poetry collective based in the Pacific Northwest.
