Author's Bio

Rona Simmons’s early published works were historical fiction set in the first half of the last century. “The sweep of events, from the First World War, to the Great Depression, to World War II, had a momentous impact on our lives,” she says. “It is a period we can still almost reach with our fingertips.” While not giving up fiction, Simmons, the daughter of a WWII fighter pilot, felt the call of that era. With much already written about the war, however, she wanted to approach the topic from a new angle. The result is her new book with a timely release as 2020 marks the 75th anniversary of the end of the war.
