Students attend a 10-day residency each June at the Reinhardt University campus in Waleska, Georgia. Visiting writers have included Richard Blanco, David Bottoms, Valerie Boyd, Earl Braggs, Jericho Brown, Christopher Dickey, Stephen Dunn, Pam Durban, Alice Friman, Tony Grooms, Beth Gylys, Reginald McKnight, Ellen Malphrus, Janisse Ray, Anna Schachner, George Singleton, and Chika Unigwe.

Students work one-on-one with a writing mentor in their genre during the entire semester, receiving in-depth feedback and instruction.
