Students participate in workshops and events with Ann during each residency; her vitality and love for the craft of writing are infused throughout the program. Visiting faculty also join us for each residency; we've welcomed writers from a variety of genres as well as publishers, agents, and editors.

In addition to tracks in poetry, fiction, and creative nonfiction, the program also offers a track in historical fiction.

Students attend two eight-day residencies each year, in January and June, in Newport, Rhode Island. Students can opt to take one January residency in Havana, Cuba.

The application deadline is November 1 to start with the January residency and May 1 for the June residency.
