Students can also complete their degrees in playwriting, screenwriting, and publishing. Core facutly for the publishing concentration includes Thomas Cook.

The program also offers bilingual study (English and Spanish) and is the first creative writing MFA program to integrate virtual reality into its teaching.

Students attend six non-consecutive weekend residencies each semester at the Doheny Campus of Mount Saint Mary’s University in Los Angeles. The program also offers a fully online option.

The program is home to the Rush, an online literary magazine run by MFA students, and hosts visiting artists, a reading series, and an annual writing conference.
