October 2, 2024

Celebrate The New Nonfiction 2024 debut authors featured in our September/October issue with a virtual reading and conversation with features editor India Lena González. This event took place on Wednesday, October 2, at 7PM EDT.

In the current issue of Poets & Writers Magazine, we introduce five debut authors: David Martinez, author of the memoir Bones Worth Breaking (MCD, April); Wei Tchou, author of the memoir Little Seed (A Strange Object, May); Zara Chowdhary, author of the memoir The Lucky Ones (Crown, July); Lydia Paar, author of the collection of nonfiction The Exit Is the Entrance: Essays on Escape (University of Georgia Press, September); and Neesha Powell-Ingabire, author of the memoir Come by Here: A Memoir in Essays From Georgia’s Geechee Coast (Hub City Press, September). Read and listen to excerpts from their debut books

This virtual event included readings from the authors and a conversation about their books and their writing practices.
