Editorial Focus

The Opiate grew from a dissatisfaction with the current landscape in the world of literary magazines. Why has literature been relegated to the blog? Why are chap-books and zines the extent of what people are willing to publish when their work deserves so much more? It's time to take back the literary magazine, and The Opiate is the first step.

Tips From the Editor

Please send submission in a Word doc file or Google doc with a brief bio and what, if anything, motivated you to send your work to The Opiate (it can be as honest as "I want to be published in print").
