Editorial Focus
Now a nonprofit organization, the goal of Sheila-Na-Gig is to continue to support the work of both established and emerging poets in a crisp, uncluttered space. The editors encourage writers from underrepresented populations to submit.
Tips From the Editor
Sheila-Na-Gig Online primarily publishes well-crafted free verse poetry, but we are also open to well-crafted formal verse. We especially seek poems with excellent imagery and a strong sense of voice.
In addition to our online poetry journal, we publish poetry collections (with open calls for submissions every other year) and occasional short fiction anthologies under Sheila-Na-Gig Editions. We also offer an annual First Chapbook Contest for writers who have not yet published a poetry collection
