Editorial Focus
Shabdaguchha is an international poetry magazine celebrating twenty-eight years of publication. Over the years, the magazine featured poets from more than seventy-five countries and published World Poetry Anthology (Darklight, 2023) to commemorate its twenty-fifth anniversary. The Shabdaguchha Poetry Award, established in 2001, is presented every two years.

“Poetry possesses immense power. It travels farther than we imagine. The great Bengali poet Jibanananda Das once remarked, ‘Everyone writes, but only a few are poets.’ American poet Stanley Kunitz, in an interview with me, said, ‘All poets are from the same mother.’ As I attend literary festivals around the world, these words continue to resonate with me. They inspire me to reflect on my own journey and to build friendships with poets from different cultures and countries. Some endure for a lifetime.”
