Editorial Focus

Founded in 1975, Oakwood is South Dakota State University's literary annual; we publish a handsome print edition in the spring followed by web publication. In recent years, Oakwood has embraced a regional identity and begun publishing work from writers of the entire Northern Great Plains region at all levels of experience, including those living here now and those who have been shaped by the region but currently live elsewhere.

Tips From the Editor

Pay particular attention to the geographical aspects of our submission guidelines and indicate your relationship with the Northern Great Plains region in your submission email. Submissions without this element will not be read.
