Editorial Focus

Matter is a monthly online journal of political poetry and commentary established with the intention of breaking down structural antimonies between labor and capital, and aesthetics and politics. In this “post-everything” (including history, identity, and narrative) age, critical and creative employment of language as a tool for (re)signification is crucial to avoid becoming, or remaining, passive or silent witnesses to spectacle culture, technocracy, and the corporate state.

Tips From the Editor

Matter will be closed for submissions until fall of 2023 at the earliest.
