IthacaLit's poetry is the best work chosen from among the many submissions sent our way by emerging & established writers. We seek to bridge differences by publishing poets whose voices represent the myriad experiences any one of us may encounter in this life. The Lauren Alleyne Difficult Fruit Poetry Prize, our annual contest, awards a $1,000 prize.
Tips From the Editor
We look for poems, author interviews, and non-fiction essays that show depth & connection to the human condition in all its adversity & diversity. Please do not submit lengthy prose poems or epic poems. Creative non-fiction that is grounded in the larger concept of process in poetry/visual art/music, or innovative theses about writing and education in lit & art, are the essays we value. We don't accept short stories. We are keen on author & artist interviews.
