Editorial Focus

Published quarterly, IthacaLit's poetry is curated from the best work we find among the many submissions sent our way by emerging & established writers. We seek to bridge differences by publishing poets whose voice & imagery connect our experiences. The Difficult Fruit Poetry Prize, our annual contest, awards a $1,000 prize. Simultaneous subs accepted, but please let us be the first to applaud you by informing us of the work's acceptance elsewhere.

Tips From the Editor

We look for poems, author interviews, and non-fiction essays that show depth & connection to the human condition in all its adversity & diversity. Please do not submit lengthy prose poems or epic poems. Creative non-fiction that is grounded in the larger concept of process in poetry/visual art/music, or innovative theses about writing and education in lit & art, are the essays we value. We don't accept short stories. We are keen on author & artist interviews.
