Editorial Focus

Doubly Mad takes its title from the poem "Listening" by Robert Bly: "because the world is mad, / the only way through the world is to learn the arts / and double the madness."  We are interested in a broad range of writing, including essays on social-political themes.  We are interested not only in emotionally powerful work, but work that challenges us to think, and draws into question our society's shibboleths.

Tips From the Editor

We always try to be inclusive of different ideas, and different styles of writing.  We are about challenging the status quo.  For a sense of what we like, pick up a back copy by emailing us at doublymadjournal@gmail.com
