Editorial Focus

Broadsided Press publishes original, high-quality collaborations between writers and visual artists (if selected for publication, a visual artist will respond to your writing) and gets them onto streets around the world. Broadsided modernizes the centuries-old tradition of the broadside and harnesses the invigorating spirit of guerilla art. Subscription to Broadsided is free. “Vectors” around the post the collaborations in their communities: on notice boards, telephone poles, office doors…. anywhere people might encounter them as they go about their days.

Tips From the Editor

Broadsided Press seeks poetry and prose that is evocative, riveting, and not too esoteric. Broadsides are out on the streets, and we hope that they compel all kinds of people to stop, read, and consider. We want them to draw in readers, not push them away. That said, we want smart, difficult work. Work that challenges and speaks strongly. We also require SHORT work so that words and image have space to breathe with each other. Because of our unique format, we are glad to republish work that has already appeared in other literary journals.
