Editorial Focus
we started boats against the current in october 2021 to be a magazine that highlights the voices of women, LGBTQ writers, and poets from underrepresented backgrounds. we've published two print issues and 22 chapbooks and publish 2-3 poets online/week.
Tips From the Editor
we are now accepting poetry submissions for issue III – our third print issue. issue III is a physical print issue that will be published in December 2026. poems accepted for publication in issue III will also be published online on our website in 2027. the submission window will be open from September 1 until November 1, 2026
