The Wild Draft: A 6-Month Novel Writing Cohort

The Wild Draft is a six-month small-group experience for writers ready to conjure their wildest (or first) draft. Running June through November 2025, this high-touch cohort offers structure, accountability, creative discipline, and personalized support to help you finish your novel—and believe in it.

You’ll meet biweekly for guided Zoom sessions that blend traditional craft lessons with unconventional practices like fieldwork prompts, artist dates, and communal check-ins. You’ll also receive one-on-one coaching, detailed feedback on your first 50 pages, and a personalized revision roadmap to help you move forward with confidence.

This space is for writers with an idea that won’t let go—whether you’re starting from scratch, picking up a stalled project, or trying to write your first full manuscript. You don’t need a perfect outline or a writing degree; just a willingness to show up, stay curious, and embrace the mess.

By the end, you’ll have a completed (or near-complete) draft, the tools to revise it, and a creative rhythm that lasts beyond one project. Most importantly, you’ll have a small, committed group of fellow writers who’ve witnessed your progress—and a mentor who believes in your voice.

Led by Kailey DelloRusso, founder of Write or Die Magazine and an experienced writing coach, The Wild Draft is designed to meet you where you are and help you write the story that’s been waiting for space to emerge.

Price: $1,800

Group Size: 6–8 writers

Enrollment closes May 28 or when spots fill
