Open Book is proud to present acclaimed novelists Michelle Huneven and Claire Lombardo in a conversation about this universal trope: the love and loss, secrets and heartbreak, myth and mistakes that characterize our most intimate tribes – and the mothers at their heart.
Huneven’s Bug Hollow, which will be published on June 17th, and Lombardo’s Same As It Ever Was span decades, and navigate troubled marriages, estrangement, encroaching friendships, sibling rivalry and resentment, and the difficulty of finding one’s place in the world. The authors will discuss their writing lives, how they shape their fictive worlds, and the challenges inherent in writing family novels with multiple characters.
Mingle at a pre-hosted happy hour, enjoy the riveting dialogue, and take part in the Q & A and book signing, from 6:30-9:00 p.m. The authors’ books will be on sale at the event. The ticket price of $60 for general admission and $35 for students/educators/partner organizations includes a pre-program hosted happy hour with appetizers and conversation, with proceeds going to support literary programs in the community.
Open Book. It’s never just an event. It’s an experience.
