First Friday Book Talk & Reading is an opportunity to meet authors with a national audience, a Nebraska connection, and a recent literary production. The reading is presented via Zoom from 12:00pm - 1:00pm on the first Friday of each month. There is no charge for this event. Registration is required to obtain the Zoom link.

Lee Horikoshi Roripaugh (she/they), a biracial LGBTQIA+ Nisei, was born and raised in Laramie, Wyoming. She is the author of five volumes of poetry. She will read from her collection of lyric essays, “unMothered, unTongued”, written from the liminal space of the in-between. These essays thread themselves around questions of language, landscape, and identity. The collection is the winner of the Sue William Silverman Prize for Creative Nonfiction in the 2024 AWP Award Series, published by the University of Georgia Press in September 2025.  The poetry collection, tsunami vs. the fukushima 50 (Milkweed Editions, 2019), was named a “Best Book of 2019” by the New York Public Library and listed as a poetry finalist in the 2020 Lambda Literary Awards.   https://larksongwritersplace.org/Events/...
