Coming up this Wednesday, April 1 at 6 pm!

FREE Eco-Poetry Writing Workshop at Cerritos Library

Description: In this generative creative writing workshop, we will celebrate poetry and the planet! April is National Poetry Writing Month and Earth Month, so we will explore the world of eco-poetry with some example poems, discussion, and then writing prompts, with time to write and share.

(I also love to bring multimedia materials, so I will probably have some different stations set up with collage materials for art-making and found poems.)

Eco-poetry takes an eco-centric perspective, which means centering earth’s ecosystems, including human civilizations, and also more-than-human plants, animals, and biospheres, with an acknowledgement of the ecological crises we are facing.

This workshop is All Levels, so whether you’re a seasoned poet or have never written a poem before in your life, you are welcomed here to come and engage in a nurturing, supportive, and inspiring environment.

Everyone is creative, and we all live on the planet, so this workshop is truly for everyone. Materials provided.

And if you haven't been to the Cerritos Library yet, it is hands down one of the most beautiful libraries in Southern California, with an entire aquarium and spiral staircases and a fantastical children's play area. A great reason to come visit on Wednesday!
