On Wednesday, September 23, 2026, at 5 PM PT, at The Lighthouse, Shelby Hartman, an LA local and co-founder and publisher of DoubleBlind, a media company at the forefront of the psychedelic movement, will be in conversation with Emily Hyland, co-founder of Pizza Loves Emily, Emmy Squared, and YogaSource, about psychedelic therapy, grief, memory, and the ways we learn to live with experiences that don’t have a simple resolution.
Hartman and Hyland will explore how revisiting grief from an altered state of consciousness can help process buried emotions and feelings. The dialogue will include Emily's personal experience with psychedelic therapy, overcoming resistance to the modality, making space for complicated feelings, and so much more.
Emily Hyland chronicles parts of her psychedelic therapy experience in her latest poetry collection, My Wise Little Ghost, which explores the layered emotions surrounding an abortion she experienced nearly 10 years ago, including grief, vulnerability, and identity.
