Book Launch: Drew Pisarra's "Periodic Boyfriends"

Just in time for Pride Month 2023, Capturing Fire Press will host a book release party for author Drew Pisarra’s latest poetry collection Periodic Boyfriends. This sonnet series celebrates a lifetime of gay lovers — both longterm and one-night-stands — as it pairs each man from Pisarra's past with a unique element from the Periodic Table. Hailed as "brilliant" by Hot Sonnets co-editor Clarinda Harriss and described as "carefully wrought stanzas filled with wit, humor, loss, and longing" by Grand Little Things editor Patrick Key, Pisarra's second poetry collection is sure to be a welcome rejoinder to his earlier book Infinity Standing Up (2019), which was lauded by The Washington Post as "brazen and lusty and often amusing." Nuyorican Poets Cafe slam legend Regie Cabico will host.
