Anisfield-Wolf Distinguished Visiting Writer

 The Department of English at Case Western Reserve University seeks the inaugural Anisfield-Wolf Distinguished Visiting Writer for the Spring 2026 semester. The faculty member will teach two (2) courses featuring the works of Anisfield-Wolf award-winning authors and give a public reading. We seek a writer of national or international recognition whose work demonstrates artistic excellence and who can inspire and mentor our students at both undergraduate and graduate levels. Applicants are encouraged to review the history and mission of the Anisfield-Wolf Book Awards. Based in Cleveland, the Anisfield-Wolf Book Awards recognize books that have made important contributions to our understanding of racism and human diversity. 

Responsibilities & Duties:The teaching load for this position is two (2) courses. The selected applicant will also give a reading open to the public.

Qualifications

By the time of the appointment, the candidate should hold either an MFA or a PhD in English, Creative Writing, or a related field.
