Author's Bio

Wes Jamison is a queer essayist whose work explores the syntax of desire, the porous boundaries of the body, and the vertigo of identity. They are the author of My Corpse Inside (UGA Press: Crux), Carrion (Red Hen Press), winner of the 2021 Quill Prose Award, and the essay and Melancholia, a winner of Essay Press’s chapbook contest. Their work has been nominated for the Pushcart Prize and selected as Notable in the Best American series. Raised in rural Ohio, Jamison moved to the city to join the inaugural cohort of Columbia College Chicago’s MFA in nonfiction. After earning their their PhD, they returned to the Midwest, where they live with their partner and cat. They currently teach English at Defiance College.
