Author's Bio

Travis Blair lives a mile down the road from the University of Texas campus in Arlington where he earned his BA degree in English Literature. He worked in the movie and theatre business for 30 years (AMC, United Artists, New World Pictures, Columbia, Orion, and Artisan Entertainment) before turning to poetry writing in 2001. He has three books of poetry published, Train to Chihuahua (2008) – a collection of poems about his adventures south of the border; Little Sandwiches, (2013) - a collection of love poems and erotic poems; and Hazy Red and Diesel Grey (2014) - a collection of poems all set in urban Texas. His poetry has appeared in literary journals throughout the United States, England, Australia, South Africa, and India, including such journals as Illya's Honey, Red River Review, San Pedro River Review, Texas Poetry Calendar, Red Fez, First Literary Journal-East, and Yellow Mama. He received a Pushcart Prize nomination in 2015.

Travis is a former President of the Dallas Poets Community and currently serves on its Board of Directors. H is a member of the Writer’s League of Texas. He currently teaches English as a Second Language to adult immigrants for the Fort Worth ISD. He has two daughters and five grandchildren and hides from them frequently in Manhattan and Mazatlan.
