Author's Bio

Stacy Russo is currently Professor of English at Santa Ana College after a long career as a college and university librarian. She is the author of the poetry chapbooks The Moon and Other Poems (Dancing Girl Press) and Everyday Magic (Finishing Line Press). Her poetry collection Hera, Venus, Diana is forthcoming from Kelsay Books. Stacy's nonfiction books include the oral histories We Were Going to Change the World: Interviews with Women From the 1970s and 1980s Southern California Punk Rock Scene (Santa Monica Press); A Better World Starts Here: Activists and Their Work (Sanctuary Publishers); and BEYOND 70: The Lives of Creative Women (Nauset Press), which received a 2024 Nautilus Silver Medal Book Award in the Aging Consciously Category and was shortlisted in the 2024 Memoir Magazine Awards. In 2018, she authored Love Activism (Litwin Books). Stacy is the editor of several essay and poetry collections, including Life As Activism: June Jordan’s Writings from the Progressive (Litwin Books) and the author/illustrator of two children's books. She has reviewed books for Feminist Collections, Oral History Review, and Feminist Teacher, as well as serving as a longtime book reviewer for Library Journal in the areas of women’s literature and American literature.
