Author's Bio

Shutta Crum is an award-winning poet and children’s book writer. In addition to her chapbook WHEN YOU GET HERE (Kelsay Books, 2020), her poems for adults have appeared in numerous small press publications and literary journals since the 1970s. That includes Ann Arbor (W)rites, Stoneboat, Typehouse, ArtAscent, the Orchards Poetry Journal and forthcoming in Main Street Rag and the Southern Poetry Review. Over the years, she has placed in the top three finalists in several of the Current Magazine poetry competitions, and was award first place in 2004. These days, a number of her poems have appeared in the AAR2 (the online version of the Ann Arbor Review). She also has several children’s books written in verse published by major publishers, including THUNDER-BOOMER! (Clarion/HMH) which was a Smithsonian Magazine Notable Book, 2009, and an American Library Assoc. Notable Book, 2010. See her website at for information about her children’s books and their awards.
