Sheila Lowe-Burke

Sheila Lowe-Burke is a working poet, literary editor, classically trained vocalist, songwriter and artist.  She has been awarded by the Michigan Governor's Office and the United States House of Representatives for her efforts to promote social justice, cultural diversity, and world peace. Sheila was appointed Beat Poet Laureate State of Michigan 2024-2026. She has been named Official Poet, Ambassador of Peace, and Director of Culture by the Government of Birland North Africa. 

Sheila studied at Pikeville University in Pikeville Kentucky and received her B.A. from Spring Arbor University in Jackson Michigan.  In 2025 while on Western US tour she studied online for 5 months to receive her diploma in International Diplomacy from Birland Royal University. Sheila holds Honorary Doctorate from International Peace Federation and Writer’s Union. She is ordained in a non-denominational organization. Sheila Burke has received awards with Joe Kidd including: 3 times Vocal Duo of the Year from International Singer Songwriter Assoc, 2 time World Music Songwriter of the Year from Detroit Music Awards, 2024 Platinum Eagle Awards, Champions of Diversity Award from Images & Perceptions Organization. In 2026 they received Michigan Music Awards in 2 Categories: Best Rock Single, and Best World Music Single. Sheila is Pushcart Poetry Prize nominee 2024. She has toured 9 countries in Western Europe. Also Canada, Mexico, Greece, Jamaica, and 36 states in USA. She has been featured in international anthologies, magazines, websites, music festivals, television, radio, internet broadcasts, and other personal appearances worldwide. Since 2015 she has released a number of albums and singles on all of the major platforms. Since then, her songs have been found at the #1 position of countless international music charts. Sheila is a member of National & International Beat Poetry Foundation, 100 Thousand Poets For Change, she is an Official Detroit Region Representatives for the International Singer Songwriter Association, In 2017 she was inducted into the Michigan Rock & Roll Legends Hall Of Fame.

In 2024, Sheila Burke was recognized as one of 50 Most Memorable Womenof North America. Her accomplishments as a Vocalist, Poet, Author, Editor, Speaker, are unsurpassed.
