Author's Bio

Until 2006, Roz Spafford taught writing at the University of California at Santa Cruz, where she also served as provost of College Eight. She now works as a writing instructor at the University of Toronto. For several years, she wrote a column on media and cultural criticism, titled "Meditations," as well as book reviews for newspapers throughout northern California. Her poems, short stories and excerpts from her novel "Telling Time," (in manuscript) have appeared in numerous literary magazines and anthologies, as well as in broadside from Moving Parts Press. Her new novel, just completed, is "Passion Play," about how the politics of the 1970s shaped the personal lives that followed. Her first book of poems, "Requiem," was published in November, 2008 by Writers and Books in Rochester, New York.
