Author's Bio

Robert Vas Dias, an Anglo-American born and now resident in London, has published twelve collections in the UK and USA. His poetry and criticism have appeared in over 100 magazines, journals, and anthologies in both countries. A festschrift, Entailing Happiness, with contributions by 35 poets and writers, appeared in 2011. Since 2001 he has collaborated on books with the British artists Patrick Caulfield RA, John Wright, Stephen Chambers RA, and Tom Hammick. A collaborative artist’s book with the British artist Julia Farrer, Syntax of Bridges, was launched in New York in November 2014. He has recently published papers on the prose poem and on the American poets Paul Blackburn, and in December 2014 he presented a paper at he University of London on the systematic-chance compositions of the American poet Jackson Mac Low. In London, he organised poetry conferences for Gresham College, including ‘Verbal inter Visual: Linking Worlds of Art & Poetry’ and its accompanying exhibition in conjunction with Central Saint Martins. He was General Secretary of The Poetry Society in London during the 1970s.
