Author's Bio

Raphael Kosek is the author of American Mythology and two prize-winning chapbooks, Rough Grace and Harmless Encounters. Her poems have appeared in numerous venues such as Southern Humanities Review, Poetry East, and Catamaran, with work forthcoming in Poetry Northwest. She also writes creative nonfiction in the form of lyric, braided essays with a notable essay, The House, the Russian, and the Dying appearing in New Ohio Review. She has taught American lit at Marist College and SUNY Dutchess for many years, and still teaches at SUNY Dutchess. She has a Masters in American literature. Reading other poets and “life” have been her MFA. She is very active in her Hudson Valley poetry community which is rich and diverse, and she was Dutchess County, NY poet laureate for 2019-2020.
