Author's Bio

Poet, Critic, Educator born in Philadelphia. Author of  five books of poetry, a study of Gertrude Stein's writing, a book about the African theme in jazz, and a biography of Carlos Santana. Taught at universities in NY and Idaho. Edited several poetry magazines. Extensive work with teaching poetry writing to students through Writers-in-the-Schools programs in West Virginia and Idaho.
