Author's Bio

Mercedes Soledad Moresco is a poet, essayist, and educator born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, in 1967. She holds a degree in Literature from Universidad Católica Argentina (UCA), where she specialized in literary workshops for young writers. She emigrated to the United States in 2001, and later earned a Master's in Applied Linguistics and an MFA in Creative Writing from the University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP). She is the founder of Educando a América, a Spanish language education program, and writes and teaches in both languages. She is the author of La distancia próxima (2014), a critical essay on the poetry of Julio Cortázar, and Pétalos negros (2024), her debut bilingual poetry collection.
