Author's Bio

I was born and raised in South Africa, and immigrated to America in 1977. I taught high school in downtown LA for 7 years, and currently teach at Sterling College in Kansas. My first poem was published in a 1976 anthology of the best high school poetry in South Africa. Four decades later I published my 2nd poem-- at the age of 56. And now, at age 61, I may have hit my stride. My brain is slowing down. Yet it seems to have finally acquired a certain poetic sensibility--perhaps as a consolation in old age.
