Author's Bio

Lisa Dordal holds a Master of Divinity and a Master of Fine Arts, both from Vanderbilt University, and teaches in the English Department at Vanderbilt. She is a Pushcart Prize and Best-of-the-Net nominee and the recipient of an Academy of American Poets University Prize and the Robert Watson Poetry Prize. Her poetry has appeared in a variety of journals including Best New Poets, The Sun, Narrative, New Ohio Review, Ninth Letter, CALYX, The Greensboro Review, Vinyl Poetry, and Nasty Women Poets: An Unapologetic Anthology of Subversive Verse. Her first full-length collection of poetry, Mosaic of the Dark (Black Lawrence Press, 2018), was a finalist for the Audre Lorde Award for Lesbian Poetry. Her second book, Water Lessons, is forthcoming in 2022 from Black Lawrence Press.
