Author's Bio

I'm a full-time author (in both Spanish and English), anthologist, and literary translator (into both Spanish and English) working in poetry, fiction, essays, graphic novels, and children's books. I also run the independent poetry press A Midsummer Night's Press. My writing has been translated into over 50 languages, including Icelandic, Maltese, Farsi, Kurdish, Basque, Luxembourgish, Changana, Romansch, and Japanese. I've given lectures, talks, or workshops at many conferences, such as Bread Loaf or the Melbourne Writers Festival, and at universities such as Princeton, Yale, Amherst, Duke, Wayne State, Rutgers, University of Cádiz, etc.

Authors I've translated into English include Carmen Boullosa, Juan Villoro, Elsa Cross, Trifonia Melibea Obono, David Aguilar, Johanny Vázquez Paz, Luis Armenta Malpica, Jeannette L. Clariond, Jordi Doce, Care Santos, etc.

Into Spanish I've translated Danez Smith's DON'T CALL US DEAD, Maggie Nelson's BLUETS & THE ART OF CRUELTY, Koleka Putuma's COLLECTIVE AMNESIA (with Arrate Hidalgo), George Takei's THEY CALLED US ENEMY, etc.
