Kabura Zakama

Kabura Zakama is a multidisciplinary professional based in Abuja, Nigeria, whose work spans development and humanitarian consultancy, management consulting, facilitation, literary publishing, policy engagement, and premarital and marital counselling. He is Group Coordinator of Kairos Impact Group Limited, under which he leads Kamji Consulting Limited as Founder and Coordinating Consultant and Kairos Tablets and Scrolls Limited as Managing Coordinator and Publisher. He is also Co-Founder of City Gate Family Fellowship. His career began in veterinary practice before evolving into more than three decades of development and humanitarian work, including direct field experience in the North-East Nigeria context.

Kabura Zakama is a Nigerian writer and promoter of writing in indigenous languages. His collection of poems, The Man Lived, won the 1999 ANA Poetry Prize. He is a member of the Association of Nigerian Authors and Abuja Literary Society. He has been published in several anthologies, including 25 New Nigerian Poets and Dance the Guns to Silence: 100 Poems for Ken Saro-Wiwa. His latest collection of poems, Chant of the Angry, was published in October 2021 and was shortlisted for the 22 ANA Poetry Prize.
