Author's Bio

Julie Weiss is the author of The Places We Empty, her debut collection published by Kelsay Books. She received her bachelor´s degree in English and Creative Writing from San Jose State University and moved to Spain the following year to teach English. She found her way back to poetry in 2018 after slipping into a 17-year creative void. She was a finalist for Alexandria Quarterly´s First Line Poetry Series, a finalist for The Magnolia Review´s Ink Award, and she was shortlisted for Kissing Dynamite´s Microchap Series. Her work appears in Perhappened, Sky Island Journal, Sinister Wisdom, Barren Magazine, ArLiJo, and others, and she has poems in many anthologies, as well. She lives in Spain with her wife and two young children.
