Author's Bio

Joanne Durham is the author of To Drink from a Wider Bowl, winner of the 2021 Sinclair Poetry Prize (Evening Street Press, 2022) and the chapbook, On Shifting Shoals, (Kelsay Books 2023). Her poetry appears in Poetry South, Poetry East, Calyx, Vox Populi, NC Literary Review, Whale Road Review, River Heron Review, Banyan Review, Sky Island Journal, Chautauqua, Quartet, Still Points Arts Quarterly and numerous other journals, and anthologies including The Nature of Our Times and The Wonder of Small Things. She served as an Associate Editor at Evening Street Press. She teaches poetry classes in person and online, and co-hosts a monthly poetry reading. A retired educator, she lives on the North Carolina coast, with the ocean as her backyard and muse.
