Jessica McCann is a published historical novelist and creative nonfiction author. Her articles have been published in dozens of magazines, including Business Week, The Writer and Phoenix. She writes and speaks about the craft of fiction and creative nonfiction writing.

McCann’s novel, Bitter Thaw, received the Foreword INDIES Gold Award for Historical Fiction (2024); North Street Book Prize, Honorable Mention in Literary Fiction (2024); and Shelf Unbound magazine's Best Indie Book of the Year (2023). Her novel, Peculiar Savage Beauty, was named 2018 Arizona Book of the Year by the Arizona Authors Association  and shortlisted for the 2020 Rubery Book Award.
