Author's Bio

Donny Winter, M.A. is a poet, educator, and LGBTQ+ activist residing in Mid-Michigan. His first full-length collection of poems, Carbon Footprint (Alien Buddha Press, 2020), reached #1 on Amazon's LGBTQ+ Poetry New Releases List and #2 on Amazon's LGBTQ+ Poetry Best Selling List. The following year, his second full-length collection, Feats of Alchemy (Alien Buddha Press, 2021), was met with similar success. Winter's work has garnered Pushcart Prize nominations for his poems "My Closet is a Reliquary" and "My Therapist is a Bumper Sticker" and a Best of the Net nomination for his poem "Alabaster." Along with his personal work in creative writing, Winter serves as an English professor at Delta College, where he teaches composition, technical writing, and creative writing. On a community-level, he also enjoys facilitating community creative writing workshops with the goal of helping aspiring writers connect with their inner creative voices.  To find out more about Winter's work, visit
