Echolalia was published by Four Way Books as winner of the Intro Prize for Poetry. Driftology won the New Michigan Press/DIAGRAM Chapbook Prize. Bernhardt’s poems have appeared in American Letters & Commentary, Barrow Street, columbia poetry review, Court Green, Cue, Denver Quarterly, DIAGRAM, Fence, Free Verse, Indiana Review, Quarterly West, The Laurel Review, New American Writing, The Offending Adam, RHINO, River City, Scoundrel Time, Spork, Tikkun, Trickhouse, TYPO, Verse Daily, Volt, and, in translation, L. Der Literaturbote. She received two fellowships from the Fine Arts Work Center, Provincetown and fellowships/grants from the Wisconsin Institute for Creative Writing (Halls Fellowship), Wisconsin Arts Board, Penn State Altoona (Writer-in-Residence), the Tennessee Arts Commission, Writers @ Work, Summer Literary Seminars in Russia and the Hessen Literary Society, Germany.
