Catherine Mellen

Poet

Author's Bio

I am an American poet and author.  Born in 1969 Lowell Massachusetts.  I wrote my first poem at age fourteen and quickly adapted my love for words.  Shamed by the childhood I lived, I became a cook and caterer for nearly three decades.  An auto accident at age forty-five, left me disabled, a victim to horrifying repressed memories and plenty of free time to put over thirty years of writing into multiple books to be published.  In 2018, I walked into my hometown police department where I shattered my silence on childhood trauma, family secrets and the monstrous predator my birth mother harbored.   I published my first book in 2021 through NFB Publishing and have continued to publish Non-fiction, Poetry and Comical Fiction.

My published works include:

Then You’ll Believe

A Childhood Tragedy Under A Mother's Watch: Part One 1975-1982

A Life Given To Me: Part Two 1982-2019

Understanding Childhood Trauma, Do You Understand It Now?

Only Beautiful Remains: Words of a Poet

Read about my life, but don't have any pity... I am a strong Irishgirl from an all American city.
