Author's Bio

Calvin Mills is a writer of short stories, essays, and plays. He hosts the Raymond Carver Podcast where he has interviewed Billy Collins, Haruki Murakami, Tess Gallagher, T.C. Boyle, Susan Cheever, director Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu, and more. His short fiction collection, The Caged Man, is forthcoming from Cornerstone Press (Dec. 16 2025). His chapbook of creative nonfiction essays, A Handful of Tragic Days, won the Eggtooth Any Genre Chapbook Prize (2024). His work has appeared in Short Story, Weird Tales, The Brussels Review, Short Form Creative Writing: A Writer's Guide and Anthology from Bloomsbury, and Youth Culture and Social Change: Making a Difference by Making a Noise from Palgrave Macmillan. His writing awards include a Meritorious Achievement Award from the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival as a playwright. He teaches writing at Peninsula College in Port Angeles, Washington.
