Author's Bio

Bruce Overby lives and writes in the San Francisco Bay Area. He holds an MFA in Writing from Queens University of Charlotte and is the winner of First Prize in the 2007 Lorian Hemingway Short Story Competition and Third Prize in the 2021 Blue Moon Novel Competition. His stories about family, love, loss, and addiction have appeared in Storyglossia, the Green Mountains Review, the Evening Street Review, and the anthology Home of the Brave: Stories in Uniform. His debut novel from Madville Publishing, The Cyclone Release, features a tragic accident, a grieving spouse, and a tangle of secrets, all set in a skyrocketing startup company during the late-1990s Silicon Valley tech boom. His second novel, Tristan 4 America, is a literary novel with the pulse of political thriller, and is due out from Willow River Press in 2026.
