Amanda Morningstar

Amanda R. Morningstar is a poet and mental health counselor from Michigan. She has been writing poetry for the vast majority of her life and loves word play as well as painting pictures with words. Morningstar uses poetry and story writing as a mean sense of catharsis and for sharing her perspectives. While earning her Bachelor's Degree, Morningstar was on the staff of her alma mater's original student literature and art publication, including a year as its Editor and Chief. She won several awards during her college career as well, including the top prize for original poetry twice. Over the years, Morningstar has had her poetry and short fiction published in several literary journals and anthologies including Tenemos, Cardinal Sins, Culture Cult Magazine, Alien Buddha Zine, and the New Generation Beats annual poetry anthology over the last few years.  She lives in Michigan with her husband, children, and bearded dragon.
